An international film production (Italy, Azerbaijan, Turkey, USA, UAE) aims to shed light on a little-known aspect of Italian resistance movement: the presence of Azerbaijani partisans in Italy.
The film will be set in the period between the announcement of the armistice of Cassibile (8 September 1943) and the rendering of Caserta (2 May 1945), during which fights occurred between military departments of the Italian Social Republic (RSI, fascist group) collaborators of the occupying troops of Nazi Germany, and the Italian partisans the Allied Forces, in the context of the Italian liberation war and the Italian campaign.
In addition to direct fights between the armed departments of both parties, reprisals were also reported on the civilian population and repression by the RSI authorities and the forces of Nazi Germany, as well as contrasts within the Partisan movement.
The location is a small mountain village, in Abruzzo, occupied by Nazi Germany forces and local RSI authorities. The village, however, continues its daily activities, and appears to have a coexistence, forced, but stable, with the occupying forces. It would almost seem like the war here has not yet arrived. This apparent stability is shaken when newly formed partisan groups oppose this occupation, reprisals on the population are constant and ruthless, the war is now felt with all its strength.
Among the Confirmed Cast from Azerbaijan, there are some of the most known and best actors of the country.
