Even Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to benefit of the Italian tax break

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted the transfer to the Juventus Italian football club, for € 105 million. The Portuguese champion has signed a four-year contract worth of EUR 30 million euro per season.
In addition to this important football breakthrough for the Italian Championship, the business deal represents a favorable fiscal advantage for Ronaldo himself. In fact, starting from 2017, for those who arrive in and have not resided in Italy for 9 of the last 10 years, a simple flat rate of EUR 100,000 is all that is required for income produced abroad. Moreover, this favorable tax break provides for an amount reduced of EUR 25,000, instead of EUR 100,000 as the principal applicant, for each tax period and for each family member of world champion Cristiano Ronaldo.
Last but not least, it’s significant to mention that the law provides for the non-payment of the donation tax (and succession), with reference to assets located outside the national territory, in the case in which the donor (or the deceased) is a new resident.
