The Regions and the Council of Cultural Heritage have expressed their favourable opinion with respect to the Strategic Plan “Great Projects of Cultural Heritage”.

These are 17 actions envisaging for 2019 the commitment of 65 million euro for restoration, valorisation of museum and archaeological areas, libraries and museums and cultural sites.

These are 17 actions envisaging for 2019 the commitment of 65 million euro for restoration, valorisation of museum and archaeological areas, libraries and museums and cultural sites.
Among the various interventions are the Pinacoteca Brera, the archaeological park of Ostia, the garibaldino compendium in Maddalena.

The funding is shared into two parts: one for the project, the other for the realization of the same; the completion of the design phase is indispensable for accessing the second fund.

The Plan also includes the interventions under the Mibact National Strategic Planning program, which involves 18 construction sites, among which: the Library of Art History and Archaeology in Rome, the Palace in Carditello and Parco named The Royal Palace in Caserta, the Real Bosco in Capodimonte – Naples, and the National Archaeological Museum in Reggio Calabria.

This program envisages resources of € 68,8 million, for which the Higher Board has already given its consent. In the near future, the interventions will be 35 for the purpose of recovering and valorising assets of historical and artistic interest for a total value of 133 million euros.

The primary objective is to secure all assets, recover the areas where they are, and optimize them to make their use easier, at the same time endorsing activities with the scope to support tourism and promote social development at a local level as well.

Cantieri della Cultura, the program including these interventions, has a total value of 3 billion euros.
