After the great success of the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, Porto Cervo will host for the first time the Audi J/70 World Championship 2017, starting today. The event is organized by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and J/70 Class.

The 12th edition broke the records with 173 teams, from 25 different Countries, enrolled. Satisfaction has been expressed by the YCCS sports director, Edoardo Recchi who underlines that the upcoming fleet doubles the one of last year’s World Championship.

Italy has the highest number of participants, 37 boats, followed by Germany with 31 crews. The Corinthian category, amateurs only, counts 80 crews including the favorite: White Hawk, the team of the Italian Gianfranco Noè.

Among the participants, will join the race also the defending world champion Joel Ronning on Catapult and the European champion Claudia Rossi with Petite Terrible.
